Free Board Games

Board games translate to a screen better than almost anything else, because the board was always the interface. There is no controller to emulate and no reflex to approximate. The rules simply move across intact.

What a computer opponent adds is a patient partner who is always available and never gets bored of losing. Our Four in a Row runs a real minimax search with alpha-beta pruning across three difficulty levels, so the hardest setting genuinely is hard. Shut The Box goes the other way: it is a dice game rather than a duel, and shutting the numbered tiles turns out to be quietly good maths practice for a younger player.

About Free AI Games

Free AI Games is a small family-run site of original browser games. A dad and his two kids build them in vanilla JavaScript using AI coding assistants as collaborators, not as the source of the games, but as a tool the way a carpenter uses a power sander. Every game runs in the browser with no install, no signup, and no app store.

What you'll find here

A growing catalogue of small, focused games. Puzzles like Semantix, Word Vault, and Associations. Arcade games like Hoop Flyer and Stacked. Card games (Cribbage, Solitaire Classics), prize-wheel games (Monster Drop), and odd experiments like DidUSeeIt?. Most games take two minutes to learn and ten minutes to play.

Built to load fast

Each game is plain HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. No engine, no framework, no download. Pages typically render in under a second on a normal connection because there is no engine runtime to ship to your browser. We wrote a longer post about why if you're curious about the trade-offs.

Safe and (mostly) family-friendly

No accounts, no chat, no user-generated content. We use Google Analytics for basic traffic stats and a simple play counter per game, and that's it. The bulk of the catalogue is suitable for kids, and anything with humour aimed more at grown-ups is noted as such. Full details in the privacy policy.

Every game is sorted into a category with its own page, so you can go straight to the kind of game you're in the mood for.
