Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers about the site, who runs it, and how it works.
Who runs Free AI Games?
It is a small family project. The site is run by Chris, a long-time software engineer, with help from his two kids â Josie (teenager, learning to code with AI tools) and Jacob (age seven, designer-in-training). Full bios on the about page.
Are the games really free?
Yes. Every game on the site is free to play, no signup, no account, no app install. We may show a small non-intrusive ad on some pages to help cover server costs, but there are no paywalls, no "premium tiers," and no popups blocking gameplay.
Do I need to download anything?
No. The games run directly in any modern web browser â Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge â on desktop, tablet, or phone. The pages are built with plain HTML and JavaScript, so they load quickly and don't require a special plugin or runtime.
Are the games safe for children?
Most are family-friendly. The bulk of the catalogue is puzzles, classic arcade remakes, and casual games suitable for any age. A few games (such as Hue-miliation) include sarcastic adult humour and are flagged as such in their descriptions. There is no chat, no user-generated content, and no in-game communication with strangers.
Are these games "AI-generated"?
No, but AI assistants are part of the workflow. The games are designed and assembled by humans (Chris and the kids). We use AI coding assistants the same way other developers use Stack Overflow or autocompletion â to draft, refactor, and debug. Every line of code that ships has been read and tested. The site name is "Free AI Games" because the project is also about learning to build with AI tools, not because the games play themselves.
Can I embed a game on my own site or blog?
Yes. Every game page has an "Embed this Game" section at the bottom with a copy-paste iframe snippet. You're welcome to embed any game with a link back. If you want to feature a game in a larger project or commercial context, please drop us a line first.
How do you collect data? Do you track me?
We use Google Analytics for basic site traffic, and a simple per-game play counter so we know which games people actually use. We don't collect personal information, we don't sell data, and we don't build advertising profiles. See the full privacy policy for details.
Can I suggest a game?
Yes, please. A surprising number of games on the site started as a suggestion from one of the kids or a friend ("what if it was Flappy Bird but a basketball?" â that became Flappy Dunk). Send ideas through the contact form.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
The contact form goes straight to Chris's inbox. Include the game name, what browser and device you're on, and what you did right before the bug showed up. Screenshots help.
Why was a particular game built?
Most game pages now include an "About" section explaining where the idea came from, what was tricky about building it, and what we'd change next. The blog also covers some of these stories in more depth.
How can I support the project?
Three ways: play the games and share them, send feedback so we know what to improve, or use the "Buy us a coffee" link on the about page. The last one helps us avoid leaning on intrusive ads.
