Tower Defender

Game Overview

A fast-paced vector graphics tower defense game. Build glowing geometry-wars style towers, blast waves of intense polygonal enemies, and watch the screen fill with laser fire and particles.

How to Play

Click an empty black grid space to build towers. Prevent the creeping geometric enemies from reaching the end of the path! Earn money by killing enemies to buy more powerful lasers and missile launchers.

About Tower Defender

I cut my teeth on Geometry Wars and Bloons TD back in the day, and Tower Defender is what happens when you let those two games have a baby. Neon vector graphics, polygonal enemies that explode in particle bursts, towers that look like they were extruded from a 1982 arcade screen. The strategy underneath the visuals is honest tower defense: build wisely, upgrade smarter, watch a corner you forgot about crumble in real time on wave 17.

The single biggest mistake new players make is spreading towers thinly along the entire path. That feels safe but it's not — you want overlapping fields of fire at corners and pinch points, because that's where an enemy spends the most frames inside any one tower's range. Find the bend in the path with two adjacent build spots and turn that into a kill zone with two maxed towers. The rest of the path can be lightly defended; it just needs to keep the trickle off your base.

How the difficulty curve is balanced

Waves alternate between swarm waves (lots of small fast enemies — laser bait) and tank waves (few large slow enemies — missile bait). If you don't have both types of tower by wave 8, the wrong wave type will end your run. The boss waves at 10, 20, and 30 deliberately mix both so a one-tower-type setup will fail. If you like fast strategy games with neon vibes, our Neon Dash is the action-side counterpart.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I build many cheap towers or save for upgrades?

Upgrade. A maxed-out tower at a chokepoint massively outperforms three basic towers spread out. Two upgraded towers covering the same bend are the standard setup.

What tower deals with the fast small enemies?

The rapid-fire laser. The missile launcher has high single-target damage but its travel time means swarms get past. Build at least one laser at any chokepoint that gets multi-spawn waves.

Can I move a tower after I place it?

You can sell it for a partial refund and rebuild elsewhere. Don't be afraid to do this — early-game layouts almost never survive the mid-game wave compositions.

Does the game pause between waves?

Yes — you have unlimited time between waves to build and upgrade. The waves themselves run in real time once you press start.
